Wii Remote Controller
The wii remote also known "wiiremote",is the wii's main device.A main feature of the wii remote is its motion sensing capability, which allows the users to interact with and manipulate items on screen via gesture recognition and pointing through the use of accelerometer and optical sensor technology. It is a wireless device, using standard bluetooth technology to communicate with the Wii or PC with a third-party programme.
Connection To PC
The wiiremote communicates with the host via standard bluetooth protocol. The wiiremote can be placed into discoverable mode for 20s by pressing the sync button under the battery cover.Holding down the 1 and 2 button continuously will force the wiiremote to stay in discoverable mode without turning off.We use standard bluetooth device of a PC to connect Wiiremote.
Finger Tracking
LED arrays from security cameras-IR LED arrays for night vision security cameras.
Gloves-gloves like exactly minority report are definitely do-able and probably a good idea for use.
LEDs on fingers
Pinching with thumb and forefinger-the wiiremote does up to 4 points. So both left and right thumb and finger could be tagged with reflective tape or LEDs.The software needs to be smart about maintaining the correct association and recognizing pinches, but very do-able.
Tagging a wiiremote and knunchuck
Tracking fingers on surfaces-unless it's a rear projection surface, the tape will be facing the wrong way.Though we might be able to put the tape on the back of the fingers and figure out some methods of triggering input. That said it will probably work well on a rear projection surface. We would need to offset the view angle of the wiiremote so supporting glass won't retroreflect the light back to the wiiremote.we use active LED points.
Taking objects on table and projection- combining this method of tracking with projection is very powerful!
